  • Started at Jock’s Lodge in September 1972 and soon playing rugby for the JC1s coached by Neil Sutherland which culminated in playing for in the 1st XV in 1985. An enthusiastic cricketer as well who played briefly for the FP 2nd XI at this sport. I graduated from Edinburgh in 1989 with an M.A in Politics and Modern History before moving to London to work for the now defunct Central Office of Information and spent most of my career there with spells in advertising agencies and client advertiser trade bodies. • Alex Prentice
  • Honorary Secretary
  • I was at the Royal High from 1966 to 1972 and I was very keen on sport. I played rugby for the 1st XV that won all of its matches in the 1971-72 season and I also played cricket for the 1st XI for three years. After school I studied at the LSE and then spent my working career in computing. I worked for BT for 25 years in a variety of roles until I retired in 2013. I now spend my time coaching the juniors at Hertford Cricket Club and acting as Secretary to the Royal High School Club in London. I am always keen to hear from any former pupils of the Royal High who live in the London area – they can contact me on 01992-554854 or email alex.prentice1@btinternet.com

  • Al Senter
  • Events co-ordinator
  • Joined 1965, as an extremely nervous ‘ gyte’. Fortunate to spend my time at the High School equally divided between Regent Road and Barnton. Even more fortunate to be appointed School Captain for 1970/1971- it must have been a very poor year. After 4 years at Southampton University, I arrived in London to seek my fortune in October 1976 and I’m still looking. I’ve made a precarious living as a freelance journalist / writer / interviewer / broadcaster, specialising in drama both on stage and screen.
