Bill Strang directs new OU Choir commission

2021 has been a desperate year for singers of all kinds, but particularly for choral groups. I have been rehearsing the Open University Choir for most of the year on Zoom, which has been a strange experience because the time lag means no-one can hear anyone else singing. In an attempt to do something creative with these limitations the choir commissioned a new piece, specifically designed to be rehearsed online and recorded individually, which reflects on the choir’s experiences of the pandemic. We then hired someone to produce a video which incorporates images taken by members of the choir during lockdown.
