FIRST ANNUAL RACEDAY Held 25th June 2005
Calling fearless punters everywhere! Break out the piggy-bank and join us for the very first RHSCL Raceday to be held at Royal Windsor racecourse on the afternoon of Saturday June 25th. What better way of spending an idyllic summer's day than on the banks of the Thames, relaxing with a glass of something fizzy and cheering home your selection in the big race?
And with Honest Al, the Punters' Pal, the man the bookies fear, to give you an exclusive guide to the runners and riders, you can, as they say, fill your boots with winnings.
The racecourse is within easy reach by road via M3, M4 and M25 and is situated on the A308 between Windsor and Maidenhead. Parking in Balloon Meadow is free. It's also very accessible by rail. Simply take the train from Waterloo to Windsor and Eton Riverside or from Paddington to Windsor Central (change at Slough) then hop aboard a French Brothers' riverboat from Barry Avenue Promenade. Ten minutes later, you alight at the racecourse jetty.
Windsor offers a number of group concessions. If we can gather together a party of at least ten people then we're entitled to some bargain prices. The racecourse enclosure is divided into three areas: the Silver Ring is the cheapest and is located a hundred yards short of the winning post, the Tattersalls includes access to the paddock and grandstand and the Club enables you to roam anywhere you want. I'd recommend the Club.
Admission to Club £20-down to £17 for advance Group bookings
Admission to Grandstand and paddock £14 down to £11 for advance Group bookings
Children under 16 are admitted free so you can always bring the family! Full details are available on the Windsor website
It would be good to have an idea of numbers as soon as possible. If you're interested, please contact me on
