We are returning to the historic RAF Club in Piccadilly for our Annual Dinner on Friday 21st March with Dinner served at 7.30 p.m. in the elegant\r\n\r\nPresidents’ Room. As usual we cordially invite members, their partners and guests to gather from 6.30 p.m. for pre-dinner drinks and relaxed conversation\r\n\r\nin the adjoining Victoria Bar. Dress for the Dinner is formal with black tie, Highland attire or lounge suit all acceptable.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
This year we are absolutely delighted to welcome Nick Barley, Director of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, as our special Guest of Honour.\r\n\r\nIn conversation with Al Senter, Nick will take us behind-the-scenes of the world’s largest Book Festival which draws a Who’s Who of international\r\n\r\nwriters to Charlotte Square Gardens every August and regularly attracts more than a hundred thousand visitors. You will also have the opportunity\r\n\r\nto ask Nick questions about the Book Festival to complete what will be a fascinating insight into the running of one of Scotland ‘s major cultural events. <\/p>\r\n
\r\nThe price of the excellent three-course dinner remains at \u00a348 and demand for tickets is bound to be high. Make sure that you don’t miss out by sending\r\n\r\na cheque to Alex Prentice, made payable to \u2018The Royal High School Club in London \u2019, using the reply slip below. An early response would be\r\n\r\nmuch appreciated to help us with planning the event. <\/p>\r\n
\r\nTo reach the RAF Club, simply turn right out of Green Park Underground station (Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria lines) and walk down Piccadilly\r\n\r\nfor four hundred metres in the direction of Hyde Park Corner. The RAF Club is at 128, Piccadilly just before the turning into Old Park Lane .\r\n\r\nThe RAF Club has some reasonably-priced accommodation available for Annual Dinner attendees. If you’d like to book a room please contact\r\n\r\nAlex Prentice with your requirements as soon as possible and Alex will liaise with the reservations team at the RAF Club to make the booking.\r\n\r\nAlternatively if you wish to make your own accommodation arrangements elsewhere that is perfectly fine.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
