Following the success and critical acclaim for its 2010 production, 5 SOLDIERS, Birmingham based and nationally renowned Rosie Kay Dance Company is thrilled to announce this brand new production.
There is Hope – a hard-hitting, contemporary dance work exploring ancient ritual and contemporary religion, including the Seven Deadly Sins – takes place on 14 March at Laban Theatre, London.
There is Hope begins in the real world, but rapidly descends into hell, followed by purgatory before finally reaching a state of heaven by the end – interwoven with elements of Kay’s renowned black comedy, occasional nudity and athletic performances. Both challenging and thought-provoking, this new piece – featuring five dancers and three musicians – ultimately offers up a message of hope and redemption. Rosie Kay Dance Company has toured the UK and Europe with its unique style and strong physicality, and earned a reputation for making fierce, original and challenging dance theatre works. There is Hope is a timely, pertinent and exciting work that speaks of today.
